R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Caleb Gomez of Scouts BSA Troop No. 128 in Buda has |
|
|
attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly |
|
|
merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor |
|
|
bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |
|
|
movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |
|
|
Mr. Gomez earned the requisite 21 merit badges; he also |
|
|
successfully completed an Eagle Scout project that involved |
|
|
refurbishing the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8925 hall in |
|
|
Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |
|
|
leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |
|
|
respect and admiration of his fellow troop members as he worked |
|
|
toward the highest rank that the organization offers; he has |
|
|
further distinguished himself as a member of Venturing Crew |
|
|
No. 1626 and the Order of the Arrow Tonkawa Lodge No. 99; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Gomez is currently a senior at Johnson High |
|
|
School in Buda, and he plans to continue his studies as a premedical |
|
|
student at the University of Houston College of Natural Sciences |
|
|
and Mathematics; a talented athlete, he won a gold medal in the |
|
|
Texas High School Powerlifting Association's regional competition; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Gomez's dedication to excellence and his |
|
|
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|
|
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|
|
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Caleb Gomez on achieving the rank |
|
|
of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Gomez as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
