R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The State of Texas is steadfast in its commitment to |
|
private property rights, and since 1920, Texas REALTORS has worked |
|
as a professional association to protect private property ownership |
|
and the rights of property owners; and |
|
WHEREAS, Texas REALTORS maintains its position as the largest |
|
professional membership association in Texas, and its more than |
|
140,000 members are engaged in every aspect of the state's diverse |
|
real estate interests, including farm and ranch, property |
|
management, and international, residential, and commercial real |
|
estate; and |
|
WHEREAS, Real estate and housing are essential to our state |
|
and local economies, with each property purchase contributing |
|
thousands of dollars through construction, jobs, and expenses; in |
|
2024, the real estate industry in Texas accounted for 17.8 percent |
|
of the state's gross domestic product, or approximately $469.2 |
|
billion; and |
|
WHEREAS, Realtors are grassroots advocates who embody |
|
professionalism in the real estate industry; they adhere to a |
|
strict code of ethics that demands competence, fairness, and a high |
|
level of integrity in their field; and |
|
WHEREAS, As vital contributors to their local towns and |
|
cities, Realtors in Texas are deeply invested, actively engaged, |
|
and dedicated to shaping vibrant, flourishing communities where |
|
Texans live, work, and prosper; to that end, Realtors continue to |
|
demonstrate their incredible abilities to help all Texans achieve |
|
the dream of homeownership; and |
|
WHEREAS, During each Texas legislative session, thousands of |
|
Realtors convene at the State Capitol to meet with their elected |
|
officials and discuss issues that are critical for ensuring that |
|
Texas remains the best state in which to own or lease real property; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize March 26, 2025, as REALTOR Day at the |
|
State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
