R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot fully express the sorrow felt at the |
|
loss of Deputy Ruben Garcia of the Cameron County Constable's |
|
Office, who died in the line of duty on September 30, 2024, at the |
|
age of 49; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ruben Garcia was born in Albion, Michigan, on |
|
March 10, 1975, to Carmen Garcia and Raul Cantu; he also enjoyed the |
|
affection of his sister, Rebecca, and several nieces and nephews; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia first joined the force as a member of the |
|
Cameron County Sheriff's Office, and he went on to serve the |
|
community with tremendous integrity and professionalism; after 22 |
|
years, he transferred to the Cameron County Precinct 1 Constable's |
|
Office, and he distinguished himself as an asset to that agency for |
|
nearly two years; he was admired and respected by his colleagues for |
|
the compassion and kindness that he brought to the job; and |
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with a loving family, Deputy Garcia |
|
cherished the relationship he shared with his wife, Mayra Garcia, |
|
and he was the proud father of three children, Ruben, Damian, and |
|
Camila; and |
|
WHEREAS, While the death of Ruben Garcia brings immeasurable |
|
sadness to his loved ones and colleagues, he leaves behind a legacy |
|
of selfless service that will continue to inspire all who had the |
|
privilege of knowing him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Deputy Ruben Garcia |
|
and extend heartfelt sympathy to those who mourn his passing; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ruben |
|
Garcia. |
