R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Scurry-Rosser High School cheerleading team
  proved itself one of the finest in the Texas by winning the 3A
  Division II title at the 2025 University Interscholastic League
  Spirit State Championships; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the other top Texas competitors at the UIL
  event, held January 16 to 18 in Fort Worth, the Scurry-Rosser
  cheerleaders opened with an exemplary performance in the
  preliminary round; they went on to demonstrate tremendous resolve
  in the finals, posting scores of 45.83 in the crowd leading category
  and 45.50 in the band chant/fight song judging for an overall score
  of 91.33 to claim the school's inaugural state cheerleading crown;
  and
         WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Lady Cats
  received valuable contributions from each member of the roster as
  they pursued their goal of becoming state champions; these
  determined student-athletes were ably guided by head coach Angela
  Mead; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
  culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
  commitment to excellence, and the Scurry-Rosser cheerleaders will
  treasure the memory of this accomplishment for the rest of their
  lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Scurry-Rosser High School
  cheerleading team on winning the 3A Division II title at the 2025
  UIL Spirit State Championships and extend to all those associated
  with the squad sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Lady Cats as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
