R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Crandall High School cheerleading team
  furthered its legacy of excellence by winning the 5A Division II
  title at the 2025 University Interscholastic League Spirit State
  Championships; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the other top Texas competitors at the UIL
  event, held January 16 to 18 in Fort Worth, the Pirates were awarded
  top honors in both the crowd leading and the band chant/fight song
  categories, and they posted an overall score of 96.07 to earn the 5A
  Division II crown; having previously won in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022,
  and 2024, the victory gave the school its sixth championship and set
  a new state record for the most wins in program history; and
         WHEREAS, Building on their first-place finish at the state
  event, the Pirates went on to compete at the UCA National High
  School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida, in February
  and captured second place in the Super Varsity Division I Game Day
  finals with a score of 92; and
         WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Pirates
  received valuable contributions from each member of the roster at
  the state and national events; these talented student-athletes were
  ably led by head coach Nicole Mitchell and assistant coaches Amber
  Ragsdale and Lesa Hitt; and
         WHEREAS, By winning their school's sixth cheerleading state
  championship and succeeding at a premier national competition, the
  Crandall Pirates have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication,
  and teamwork, and they are a source of great pride to their school
  and community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Crandall High School
  cheerleading team on winning the 5A Division II title at the 2025
  UIL Spirit State Championships and extend to all those associated
  with the squad sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Pirates as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
