R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Willis Johnson is being honored with a 2025 |
|
|
Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The chief executive officer of JBJ Management, |
|
|
Mr. Johnson established the public affairs firm in 1995; |
|
|
headquartered in Dallas, the award-winning company provides |
|
|
strategic support services in government relations, public |
|
|
engagement, enterprise development, and technology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson has received many awards for his work in |
|
|
the public affairs industry, including the Lifetime Achievement |
|
|
Award from the Dallas Business Journal and the NAACP Corporate |
|
|
Leadership and Entrepreneurship Award, and he was inducted into the |
|
|
Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2019; a native of Gladewater, he holds a |
|
|
bachelor's degree from East Texas State University at Commerce; in |
|
|
all his endeavors, he benefits from the love and support of his |
|
|
wife, Sophia; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Willis Johnson sets an inspiring example of service |
|
|
and achievement for his fellow Texans, and he is indeed deserving of |
|
|
special recognition for all that he has accomplished; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Willis Johnson on his receipt of a |
|
|
2025 Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black |
|
|
Caucus and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
