R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Many Texans are joining together with people around
  the world in celebration of Navroz, also known as the Persian New
  Year, on March 21, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, This festival celebrates the first day of spring,
  which is observed by many communities, particularly in Central and
  South Asia; and
         WHEREAS, The origin of the celebration can be traced back to
  ancient Persia, and the observance marks the first day of the
  Persian solar year; and
         WHEREAS, Navroz commemorates a centuries-old agrarian custom
  that over time was integrated into various cultures and faith
  groups; and
         WHEREAS, Navroz is traditionally celebrated by the recital of
  devotional poetry, prayers, and the distribution of dried fruits,
  nuts, and grains to symbolize the abundance of sustenance; and
         WHEREAS, Today, Navroz is celebrated in different ways by
  some 300 million people around the world, and it traditionally
  commences with a spring cleaning of the home; and
         WHEREAS, The observance of Navroz in the Lone Star State is a
  reflection of the lively blend of cultures that have shaped our
  state's history and identity, and this joyous event is indeed
  deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the celebration of Navroz on March
  21, 2025, and extend to all those who are participating in the
  festivities sincere best wishes for a memorable and meaningful
  occasion.
