R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Clifford Hastings Johnson on February 26, 2025, at the
  age of 76; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Columbus, Georgia, "Hasty" Johnson attended
  Woodberry Forest School in Virginia and earned a bachelor's degree
  in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology;
  he went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy as a supply officer
  on the Mediterranean front; and
         WHEREAS, In 1975, Mr. Johnson received his MBA from Harvard
  Business School, and he joined Hines, a Houston-based real estate
  investment, development, and management firm, in 1978; he spent 45
  years with the company, retiring as vice chair in 2023; over the
  course of his tenure, he initiated the firm's acquisition program
  and developed the investment management business; he also served on
  the executive and investment committees; and
         WHEREAS, Despite his busy professional life, Mr. Johnson
  always made time for recreational activities, including hiking,
  skiing, windsurfing, biking, fishing, and bird hunting; he climbed
  the Matterhorn, explored remote areas of Africa, went diving in the
  South Pacific, and fished the jetties of Matagorda Bay;
  accompanying him on many of his adventures was Sis, his beloved wife
  of 46 years, and his daughters, Alice and Ann; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his integrity, his sense of humor, and his
  adventurous spirit, Hasty Johnson brightened the world for all who
  knew him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Clifford Hastings
  Johnson and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Edith H. "Sis" Johnson; to his daughters, Alice
  Hastings Johnson and Ann Morrow Johnson and her husband, Francisco
  Rivera; to his siblings, Gwynn Polidoro, Lloyd Johnson, and Joel
  Johnson; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hasty
  Johnson.
