R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Endometriosis Awareness Month is being observed in
  March 2025, providing a fitting opportunity to rally support for
  girls and women who have been diagnosed with this condition and to
  honor the many health care practitioners and scientists who are
  working to provide treatment and search for a cure; and
         WHEREAS, This chronic disease occurs when the endometrium, a
  type of tissue that lines the inside of the uterus, grows in other
  places in the body; symptoms may include severe pain, swelling,
  bleeding, and digestive problems; in addition, 40 percent of women
  living with endometriosis have some form of infertility; patients
  are also at greater risk for cancer as well as autoimmune, allergic,
  and heart diseases; and
         WHEREAS, One of the most common gynecological diseases,
  endometriosis impacts approximately 10 percent of reproductive-age
  girls and women worldwide; the disease is often misidentified, and
  many patients wait up to 10 years to receive a proper diagnosis;
  while there is currently no cure for the disease, treatments are
  available to alleviate symptoms; and
         WHEREAS, In 1993, the Endometriosis Association established
  Endometriosis Awareness Month, which takes place in March; the
  annual observance unites people around the world in their
  commitment to improving outcomes for girls, women, and mothers with
  the disease, and it spotlights the outstanding doctors,
  researchers, and other medical professionals who have contributed
  to this important goal; and
         WHEREAS, Endometriosis Awareness Month serves as a means of
  educating the public about this serious, life-changing condition
  and promoting efforts to develop new treatments and potential
  cures, and all those involved in this worthwhile cause are indeed
  deserving of support; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 2025 as Endometriosis Awareness
  Month and encourage all Texans to learn more about the disease.
