R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops
  are gathering in Austin on April 1, 2025, for Catholic Advocacy Day
  at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, A federation of all Roman Catholic dioceses and
  ordinariates in Texas, TCCB encourages and fosters cooperation and
  communication among the dioceses and church ministries, monitors
  accreditation of Catholic schools, and addresses matters of public
  policy, including institutional concerns of the church and issues
  related to moral and social doctrine; in addition, through the
  Catholic Archives of Texas, the organization collects and preserves
  for researchers the records of individuals and organizations
  engaged in work reflecting church goals; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to meeting the needs of the more than nine
  million Catholics living in the state, TCCB benefits from the
  efforts of a number of outstanding clergy, including Archbishop
  Gustavo García-Siller of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, Bishop
  David Toups of the Diocese of Beaumont, Bishop James Tamayo of the
  Diocese of Laredo, Bishop Brendan J. Cahill of the Diocese of
  Victoria, and Bishop Robert M. Coerver of the Diocese of Lubbock;
  and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Catholic Conference of
  Bishops have set an inspiring example of faith in action, and it is
  a pleasure to join in recognizing them for their many
  contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops
  on the occasion of Catholic Advocacy Day at the State Capitol and
  extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for TCCB as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
  of Representatives.
