R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The African American Education Archives and History
  Program is honoring 12 distinguished Texans at its annual Hall of
  Fame Induction Ceremony/Luncheon in Dallas on April 12, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 2002, AAEAHP is a collaborative effort
  among local educators and the African American Museum; the
  organization works to raise awareness of the African American
  educational experience in Dallas County, collect and preserve
  archival material, support students and young educators, and
  recognize outstanding individuals; since its inception, the
  organization has been responsible for numerous initiatives, among
  them the African American Education Hall of Fame, the Sankofa
  Children's Center at the African American Museum, oral history,
  historical archives, a scholarship program, and curriculum
  development; and
         WHEREAS, The Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Educators include
  Dr. Helen Benjamin, Cassandra Black, Robert Edison, Dr. Levatta
  Levels, Dr. Larry Lewis, Bertric Manning, Dora Wesley Morris,
  Cheryl Smith, Norma Wright, and the late Dr. Charles Matthews; in
  addition, Senator Royce West and Curtis King are being recognized
  with Presidential Awards; and
         WHEREAS, Through their exemplary contributions, these
  visionaries have earned the respect and admiration of the education
  community, and their accomplishments have set an inspiring example
  for their fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the 2025 African American
  Education Archives and History Program Hall of Fame Induction
  Ceremony honorees and extend to them sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the individuals as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
