R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Stephen Wayne Jackson Sr. has been named a recipient
  of the 2025 Outstanding Texan Award for House District 111 by the
  Texas Legislative Black Caucus; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Mr. Jackson graduated from South
  Oak Cliff High School and went on to attend Texas A&M University; he
  subsequently answered his nation's call to duty by enlisting in the
  U.S. Army, and over the course of eight years, he served in such
  elite units as the 82nd Airborne Division Special Forces Unit, the
  1st Ranger Battalion, and the 1st Cavalry Airmobile Division; on
  his return to civilian life, he began working in the retail
  industry, and he rose through the ranks at Minyard Food Stores to
  become director of operations; and
         WHEREAS, In 2016, Mr. Jackson transitioned to a career with
  Community Missionary Baptist Church in DeSoto, which has allowed
  him to blend his professional expertise with his passion for
  service; throughout his exemplary tenure with CMBC, he has served
  as both director of logistics and director of community outreach,
  and in these capacities, he has overseen a number of vital
  initiatives benefiting underserved communities, including food
  distribution programs and job and resource fairs; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Jackson enjoys the love
  and support of his wife, Portia, and he takes great pride in their 6
  children and 13 grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Through his steadfast commitment to leadership and
  community service, Stephen Jackson has made a positive difference
  in the lives of countless Texans, and he is indeed deserving of this
  prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Stephen Wayne Jackson Sr. on his
  receipt of a 2025 Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas
  Legislative Black Caucus and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success with his important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
