R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, City National Bank of Colorado City is marking the |
|
|
125th anniversary of its founding on April 10, 2025, and this |
|
|
occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize its vital |
|
|
contributions to the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This venerable financial institution was |
|
|
established on April 4, 1900, when the Office of the Comptroller of |
|
|
the Currency authorized the bank to begin operation in West Texas; |
|
|
originally known as The City National Bank of Colorado, it |
|
|
eventually merged with The Colorado National Bank and continued to |
|
|
serve Mitchell County as City National Bank of Colorado City; in |
|
|
2019, it opened a new location in San Angelo to better serve area |
|
|
residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its founding, City National Bank of Colorado |
|
|
City has been guided by the belief that "principle comes before |
|
|
principal"; the bank's leadership, which includes president and CEO |
|
|
Wrey Montgomery, seeks to uphold a philosophy that honors |
|
|
reciprocity and personal responsibility, and its employees are |
|
|
dedicated to treating customers' finances with the same care and |
|
|
respect as their own; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Businesses that employ Texans and help to strengthen |
|
|
the local economy are important components of a prosperous future, |
|
|
and City National Bank of Colorado City is deserving of recognition |
|
|
for the positive role it plays in Colorado City, San Angelo, and |
|
|
beyond; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 125th anniversary of City |
|
|
National Bank of Colorado City and extend to all those associated |
|
|
with the institution sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
