R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |
|
with the tragic passing of Erma Adeyemo of Arlington on March 31, |
|
2025, at the age of 63; and |
|
WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Mama Erma" to her loved |
|
ones and community, Ms. Adeyemo served as a special education |
|
teacher in the Arlington Independent School District for more than |
|
two decades, and during the summers, she helped with the district's |
|
food program; following her retirement, she worked with cancer |
|
patients undergoing therapy at Texas Oncology; and |
|
WHEREAS, A woman of deep faith, Ms. Adeyemo was an active |
|
member of Word of Peace International Ministry Church in Grand |
|
Prairie, where she sang in the choir and participated in the altar |
|
ministry and other groups; she also led the church's hospitality |
|
team and food pantry; in addition, she volunteered with Special |
|
Olympics; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Adeyemo was the proud mother of three daughters, |
|
and she had the pleasure of seeing her treasured family grow to |
|
include nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and |
|
WHEREAS, Possessed of a warm and generous nature and a joyous |
|
zest for life, Erma Adeyemo brightened the world for all who knew |
|
her, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Erma Adeyemo and |
|
extend sincere condolences to her relatives and many friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Erma |
|
Adeyemo. |
