R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Cooper Steven Dawson of the Greenville Police |
|
Department was killed in the line of duty on November 26, 2024, at |
|
the age of 28, and his untimely passing is a tragic loss to his |
|
family, to his fellow officers, and to the residents of his |
|
community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Bedford on December 20, 1995, to Steven and |
|
Marisa Dawson, Cooper Dawson grew up with the companionship of his |
|
two sisters, Kristen and Ashley; prior to joining the Greenville |
|
Police Department, he was a police officer with the City of Garland; |
|
throughout his career in law enforcement, he demonstrated a |
|
courageous spirit and a steadfast dedication to protecting and |
|
serving his community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Officer Dawson was known for his magnetic |
|
personality, his open heart, and his delightful sense of humor; a |
|
family man, he enjoyed creating lasting memories with those closest |
|
to him; in all his endeavors, he benefited from the love and support |
|
of his wife, Aubrey, and their three children, Ayden, Parker, and |
|
Kody; and |
|
WHEREAS, Cooper Dawson was a courageous and caring law |
|
enforcement officer who embodied the highest ideals of his |
|
profession, and he will forever be remembered with admiration and |
|
affection by those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Officer Cooper |
|
Steven Dawson and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of |
|
his family: to his wife, Aubrey Dawson; to his children, Ayden, |
|
Parker, and Kody Dawson; to his parents, Steven and Marisa Dawson; |
|
to his sisters, Kristen Dawson and her partner, Micah, and Ashley |
|
Sandoval and her husband, Kegan; to his grandfather, Randy Wright; |
|
and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cooper |
|
Dawson. |
