R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Elaine Stokes has distinguished herself in her
  responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State
  Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mrs. Stokes has provided
  vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
  in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
  service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
  issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; during her time in
  the office, she oversaw the representative's work in the
  Subcommittee on Juvenile Justice, tracked legislation, and
  collaborated with nonprofit organizations to procure information
  vital to member concerns; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Stokes is completing a master's degree in
  educational leadership and policy at The University of Texas at
  Austin, and she plans to begin her pursuit of a doctorate at the
  Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs in fall 2025; she holds a
  bachelor's degree from the college of engineering at Texas A&M
  University, and she previously worked as a mathematics teacher at
  both Leander High School and Crockett High School; passionate about
  the issue of juvenile justice, she has also served as a volunteer
  professor with the Texas Prison Education Initiative, as an intern
  with the Austin Independent School District Research Department,
  and as a data analyst for the Prison and Jail Innovation Lab; and
         WHEREAS, Elaine Stokes has performed her duties as a
  legislative aide with great skill and dedication, and she is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Elaine Stokes for her outstanding
  service as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative
  Gene Wu and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
  in all her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Stokes as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
