R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close with the passing of Guerry Legrande Hahn Sr. of Anahuac on
  March 10, 2025, at the age of 96; and
         WHEREAS, Guerry Hahn was born in Houston on November 15,
  1928, to Laura Mae Guerry Hahn and Guy Connie Hahn, and he grew up
  with the companionship of nine siblings, Douglas, Glen, Charles,
  Guy, Marjorie, Dorothy, Lucille, Beverly, and Gwendolyn; he was a
  descendant of Joseph Ehlinger, who fought in the Battle of San
  Jacinto, and as a boy, he was selected to place a wreath on the steps
  of the San Jacinto Monument when it first opened; in addition, he
  attained the rank of Eagle Scout; and
         WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Hahn served
  in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, and he exemplified the
  highest ideals of the armed forces; in recognition of his
  outstanding military service, he was invited to participate in an
  Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in April 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hahn enjoyed a rewarding career as an engineer
  at Cameron Iron Works, where he earned the respect and admiration of
  his colleagues for his skill and professionalism; an avid
  outdoorsman, he later established a fishing guide business, Gold
  Spoon Guide Service, which he operated alongside his son; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Hahn shared many
  happy years with his wife, Jessie Bea Hahn, before her passing; he
  took great pride in their children, Leighanne, Sherri Lynn, the
  late Guerry Legrande Hahn Jr., and the late Brenda Rene' Sloan, and
  over the years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to
  include 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4
  great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, While the passing of Guerry Hahn brings great
  sadness to his loved ones, he leaves behind a legacy that will long
  be treasured by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Guerry Legrande
  Hahn Sr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Guerry
  Hahn.
