R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mark Woodyard of Murphy Middle School has been |
|
|
nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary |
|
|
Teacher of the Year award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Woodyard has been teaching and coaching at |
|
|
Murphy Middle School since 2014, and he was named athletic director |
|
|
in 2018; a graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson, he served |
|
|
six years in the United States Army, completing tours of duty in |
|
|
Iraq and Afghanistan; after concluding his military service, he |
|
|
earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from The |
|
|
University of Texas at Dallas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mark Woodyard exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mark Woodyard on his nomination for |
|
|
the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary Teacher of the |
|
|
Year award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success with his important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Woodyard as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
