R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Phillip J. Curry of McMillen High School has been |
|
|
nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary |
|
|
Teacher of the Year award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Curry has enjoyed a rewarding tenure with Plano |
|
|
ISD that has spanned 15 years; he has served various district |
|
|
campuses, and he currently teaches American Sign Language at |
|
|
McMillen High; a native of California, he has lived in Texas since |
|
|
2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Phillip Curry exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Phillip J. Curry on his nomination |
|
|
for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary Teacher of |
|
|
the Year award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success with his important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Curry as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
