R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Fire Department Investigation Unit |
|
|
was named the 2025 Investigator of the Year by the International |
|
|
Association of Arson Investigators on April 15; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the IAAI recognizes a firefighter or fire |
|
|
unit that has demonstrated exceptional expertise in both the |
|
|
criminal and civil fields of arson control; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in December 2020, the SAFD |
|
|
Investigation Unit collects critical evidence and data at the scene |
|
|
of a fire, and its in-depth analysis of how the blaze started often |
|
|
provides information that can help with future fire prevention; |
|
|
over the last four and a half years, the unit has investigated |
|
|
nearly 2,000 fire incidents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the San Antonio Fire Department |
|
|
Investigation Unit have earned the respect and admiration of their |
|
|
peers through their unyielding commitment to protecting the lives |
|
|
and property of their fellow citizens, and they are indeed |
|
|
deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the San Antonio Fire Department |
|
|
Investigation Unit on being named the 2025 Investigator of the Year |
|
|
by the International Association of Arson Investigators and extend |
|
|
to its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the unit as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
