R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Junior-Junior League of Galveston County is |
|
|
hosting its inaugural gala, the Primrose Ball, on May 3, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An initiative of the Junior League of Galveston |
|
|
County, the Junior-Junior League is open to girls ages 13 to 18; the |
|
|
group provides members with opportunities for personal and |
|
|
professional development while placing an emphasis on community |
|
|
involvement, fellowship, and philanthropy; after experiencing a |
|
|
decline in enrollment in recent years, the chapter has grown to |
|
|
include more than 40 members; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Primrose Ball is the Junior-Junior League's |
|
|
first philanthropic gala, and it raises scholarship funds for |
|
|
deserving young women in Galveston County; the event was organized |
|
|
entirely by JJL members, who coordinated its decorations and |
|
|
refreshments and secured the historic Moody Mansion museum as its |
|
|
venue; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Junior-Junior League have set an |
|
|
inspiring example of leadership and community engagement, and they |
|
|
are indeed deserving of special recognition for their efforts; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 2025 Junior-Junior League of |
|
|
Galveston County Primrose Ball and extend to all those associated |
|
|
with the organization sincere best wishes for a meaningful and |
|
|
memorable event; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the league as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
