R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Alexis Boehmer has distinguished herself in her |
|
|
responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Boehmer has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|
|
including meeting with constituents and contributing to the |
|
|
office's budgetary process, and she has also tracked legislation |
|
|
and supported the representative's work on the Appropriations |
|
|
Committee; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field |
|
|
of public service, she has learned more about the legislative |
|
|
process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A Hobby Fellow, Ms. Boehmer is currently a senior at |
|
|
the University of Houston, where she is a member of The Honors |
|
|
College and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology, and she |
|
|
previously served as president of the campus mock trial |
|
|
association; she has also held internships with the office of |
|
|
Houston Vice Mayor Pro Tempore Martha Castex-Tatum, the Harris |
|
|
County Public Defender's Office, and the Harris County Department |
|
|
of Economic Equity and Opportunity; upon graduation, she intends to |
|
|
continue her studies at The University of Texas at Austin School of |
|
|
Law; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alexis Boehmer has performed her duties as a |
|
|
legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Alexis Boehmer for her service as a |
|
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gene Wu and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Boehmer as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
