R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jadyn Houston, a standout field hockey player at |
|
|
St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin, has been named to the |
|
|
2025 Junior U.S. U-18 Women's National Team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following a three-day training camp in February in |
|
|
Charlotte, North Carolina, Ms. Houston was invited to join the U-18 |
|
|
national field hockey squad; her selection to the team |
|
|
automatically qualified her to attend the next training camp, which |
|
|
was held in March in Charlotte; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Houston first took up the sport at Lone Star |
|
|
Field Hockey, and early on, she demonstrated her impressive ability |
|
|
at the position of goalie; currently, this talented young athlete |
|
|
is a sophomore at St. Stephen's, where her accolades include being |
|
|
chosen to the 2024-2025 Southwest Preparatory Conference |
|
|
All-Conference Team and as a top-50 player in the U.S. 2025 ranking |
|
|
of the Max 150; moreover, she excels in basketball for the Spartans; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her skill, determination, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence, Jadyn Houston has become a source of great pride for her |
|
|
school and for her many supporters in the community, and her |
|
|
selection to this prestigious team truly merits special |
|
|
recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jadyn Houston on being named to the |
|
|
2025 Junior U.S. U-18 Women's National Team in field hockey and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Houston as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
