R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Judge Amanda Burch has been named a recipient of a
  2025 Distinguished Alumni Award by the Killeen Independent School
  District Alumni Association; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, the alumni association recognizes
  Killeen ISD graduates who have contributed significantly to their
  communities or professions and who serve as inspiring role models
  for future generations; and
         WHEREAS, A 1994 graduate of Ellison High School, Judge Burch
  earned a bachelor's degree with honors from Texas Tech University
  in 1998 and a law degree with honors from the Texas Tech University
  School of Law in 2001; and
         WHEREAS, Judge Burch subsequently began her legal career as
  an associate with Gardere Wynne Sewell in Dallas, and she went on to
  serve as an assistant attorney general and special assistant United
  States attorney with the Office of the Attorney General of Texas
  before becoming an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern
  District of Texas in 2008; on August 1, 2024, she was sworn in to
  serve as a U.S. magistrate judge for the United States District
  Court, Northern District of Texas, Lubbock Division; active in her
  professional community, she is a member of the State Bar of Texas
  and the Lubbock Area Bar Association; and
         WHEREAS, The accomplishments of noteworthy alumni are a
  source of great pride to all those associated with Killeen ISD, and
  Amanda Burch is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Judge Amanda Burch on her receipt
  of a 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Killeen Independent
  School District Alumni Association and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Judge Burch as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
