R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sandra Hernandez, head coach of the softball team at |
|
|
Southwest High School in San Antonio, reached a significant |
|
|
milestone when she recorded her 400th career win on April 10, 2025; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The memorable victory came in a matchup against |
|
|
crosstown rival Harlandale High School; the Dragons triumphed 8-7, |
|
|
lifting Coach Hernandez to a new level of success; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A Southwest alumna, Coach Hernandez has spent her |
|
|
entire 17-year head coaching tenure at her alma mater; |
|
|
demonstrating strong leadership and an unwavering commitment to her |
|
|
players, she has excelled at the helm of the softball squad, guiding |
|
|
the Dragons to 11 district titles and to an appearance in the |
|
|
University Interscholastic League state tournament in 2014; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In reaching the 400-win plateau, Sandra Hernandez |
|
|
has earned a special place in the pantheon of Lone Star State |
|
|
softball coaches, and this impressive feat is indeed deserving of |
|
|
commendation; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sandra Hernandez on her 400th |
|
|
career victory and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Coach Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
