R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, William Lawrence Coorsh of Houston, an esteemed |
|
|
Texan and a friend to many, passed away on December 15, 2023, at the |
|
|
age of 67; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Harry and Anita Coorsh, Bill Coorsh was |
|
|
born on March 9, 1956, and he grew up with the companionship of two |
|
|
brothers, Thomas and Richard; he received a bachelor's degree in |
|
|
industrial management from Purdue University and a master's degree |
|
|
in business administration from the University of Chicago; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Coorsh enjoyed a rewarding career as an energy |
|
|
trader, and he held senior executive positions at various energy |
|
|
trading and marketing companies before taking on the role of |
|
|
executive vice president of investor relations at Logista Advisors |
|
|
LLC; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A dedicated champion for people with intellectual |
|
|
and developmental disabilities, Mr. Coorsh served as a member and |
|
|
as president of the board for The Center for Pursuit, which is |
|
|
dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to reach |
|
|
their full potential; in 2022, he was appointed by Governor Greg |
|
|
Abbott to the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Coorsh was a loving and devoted |
|
|
father to his daughter, Jodie; he drew strength from his deep faith, |
|
|
and he was a source of inspiration to others in his religious |
|
|
community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Bill Coorsh |
|
|
will remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth and |
|
|
compassion, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their |
|
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of William Lawrence |
|
|
Coorsh and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many |
|
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bill |
|
|
Coorsh. |
