R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Round Rock Express baseball team is celebrating
  its 25th season at Dell Diamond in 2025, providing a fitting
  opportunity to commend the organization for its civic engagement
  and impressive achievements on the field; and
         WHEREAS, In 2000, the Express was established by Ryan Sanders
  Baseball, a group composed of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer
  Nolan Ryan and his sons, Reid and Reese, and Houston businessman Don
  Sanders and his sons, Bret and Brad; named for Nolan Ryan, who
  earned the nickname the "Ryan Express" during his legendary career,
  the Express was initially the Double-A affiliate for the Houston
  Astros and then served as the franchise's Triple-A team from 2005
  through 2010; the Express became part of the Texas Rangers'
  organization before the 2011 season, and after a second stint under
  Astros management, it returned to the Rangers' minor league system
  in 2021; the squad competes in the Pacific Coast League; and
         WHEREAS, Over the years, the Express has racked up many
  accomplishments, starting with winning the Texas League
  championship during its inaugural campaign in 2000 and collecting
  10 division titles along the way; among the baseball luminaries who
  have donned an Express jersey are Roger Clemens, Yordan Alvarez,
  John Buck, Chris Davis, Morgan Ensberg, Joey Gallo, Keith Ginter,
  Jason Hirsh, Josh Jung, Roy Oswalt, Hunter Pence, Kyle Tucker, and
  José Urquidy; and
         WHEREAS, The Express plays its home games at Dell Diamond, a
  state-of-the-art, multipurpose sports and entertainment complex
  that consistently ranks among the top ballparks in minor league
  baseball; a popular destination, it has hosted University
  Interscholastic League baseball state championship games,
  concerts, expos, and festivals and has served as a set for movies,
  television shows, and commercials; moreover, the Express benefits
  area residents through a number of community partnerships; and
         WHEREAS, A highly regarded franchise that has thrilled fans
  with its exciting brand of baseball over the past quarter century,
  the Round Rock Express has made significant contributions to the
  Lone Star State's proud legacy of athletic excellence, and it is a
  pleasure to join in honoring the team on the occasion of this
  notable milestone; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Round Rock Express baseball
  team on its 25th season and extend to the players, coaches, staff,
  and executives sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
