R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Brad Hunt is retiring as superintendent of the
  Coppell Independent School District at the end of the 2024-2025
  school year, drawing to a close an exemplary career in public
  education spanning three and a half decades; and
         WHEREAS, In 1990, Dr. Hunt began his tenure with Coppell ISD
  as a special education, world geography, and U.S. government
  teacher at Coppell High School; he then became the assistant
  principal of Coppell Middle School West before accepting a position
  as a middle school principal in Carroll ISD; he later returned to
  Coppell ISD to serve as the director of human resources, and in
  2006, he took on the role of principal of Coppell High School; in
  2011, he transitioned back to the district's central office as the
  assistant superintendent for administrative services, and he went
  on to be named superintendent six years later; and
         WHEREAS, Under Dr. Hunt's leadership, Coppell ISD embarked
  on a new strategic design plan in 2017, and voters passed a bond
  package totaling $321 million in May 2023; in recognition of his
  efforts, Dr. Hunt was chosen as a Southern Methodist University
  Institute for Leadership Impact 2022-2023 District Leadership
  Fellow, and he received the 2021 Communication Technology Award for
  Superintendents from the National School Public Relations
  Association; in addition, he was one of 24 superintendents from
  across the nation to be selected as a 2020 Superintendent to Watch
  by the National School Public Relations Association; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Hunt holds a bachelor's degree from the
  University of North Texas, a master's degree from The University of
  Texas at Tyler, and a doctor of education degree from UNT; in all
  his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janay,
  and their two children; and
         WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence, Brad Hunt has greatly benefited the
  students of Coppell ISD and earned the respect and admiration of his
  colleagues, and his contributions to the district will be
  remembered and appreciated for many years to come; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Brad Hunt on his retirement as
  superintendent of the Coppell Independent School District and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Hunt as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
