R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The members of the boys' golf team from Allen
  Academy in Bryan reached the pinnacle of success by winning the 2025
  Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools 2A state
  championship; and
         WHEREAS, Joining other top players from across Texas for the
  2A championship tournament in Glen Rose on April 14 and 15, the
  Allen Academy team was determined to prevail, having finished as
  the runner-up for the previous five years; the Rams trailed by eight
  strokes after the first round, but they battled back on day two to
  defeat Prestonwood Christian Academy North by six strokes,
  finishing with a combined score of 677; the dramatic victory capped
  a historic postseason run in which the Rams also won the TAPPS 2A
  District 4 and South Regional titles; and
         WHEREAS, Lathan Lucas shot a 162 over the two days of play to
  lead the Rams and secure a sixth-place individual finish;
  accompanying him on the All-State team was Charlie Wiese, who
  placed ninth with a score of 163; Seonhu Lee finished 18th with a
  173, Braydon Sharboneau carded a 178, and Yuvraj Chahal and Hunter
  Willett each turned in scores of 179; the Rams also benefited
  throughout the year from the contributions of Luke Zumwalt; these
  determined student-athletes were ably guided by head coach Andrea
  Gaston and assistant coach Glenn Finley; and
         WHEREAS, By excelling in this premier showcase for high
  school golf, the Allen Academy players have ably represented their
  school and community, and they may indeed reflect with pride on
  their notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Allen Academy boys' golf team
  on winning the 2025 TAPPS 2A state championship and extend to the
  players and coaches sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
