R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Chris Kemp is retiring from Lubbock Fire |
|
|
Rescue on May 17, 2025, drawing to a close more than 25 years of |
|
|
dedicated service to the city; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following in both his father's and brother's |
|
|
footsteps, Chris Kemp joined Lubbock Fire Rescue in August 1999; he |
|
|
was promoted to equipment operator in March 2007 and to lieutenant |
|
|
in December 2011, and he went on to serve as captain for over a |
|
|
decade; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Kemp has further contributed to his |
|
|
community through his efforts as president of the Lubbock |
|
|
Professional Firefighters Association; during his tenure, he |
|
|
played a vital role in the LPFFA's COATS4KIDS initiative, which |
|
|
delivers winter jackets to local children in need; in retirement, |
|
|
he plans to stay involved with COATS4KIDS and to spend time with his |
|
|
family; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Chris Kemp's leadership, hard work, and commitment |
|
|
to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of Lubbock and |
|
|
earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow first |
|
|
responders, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
|
|
spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Captain Chris Kemp on his |
|
|
retirement from Lubbock Fire Rescue and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Captain Kemp as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
