R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Beatriz Copello has distinguished herself in her |
|
|
responsibilities as a communications intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Copello has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|
|
including informing constituents and allies about the office's |
|
|
work; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of |
|
|
public service, she has learned more about the legislative process |
|
|
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Copello is a sophomore at The University of |
|
|
Texas at Austin, where she is pursuing a degree in political |
|
|
communications; she has been involved with student government and |
|
|
has held membership in the campus chapters of Eta Sigma Phi and |
|
|
Minority Women Pursuing Law; moreover, she has served as a Spanish |
|
|
translator for events sponsored by the UT School of Law, and she has |
|
|
assisted in providing legal support to Houston-area youth through |
|
|
the city's Teen Court program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Beatriz Copello has performed her duties as a |
|
|
communications intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Beatriz Copello for her service as a |
|
|
communications intern in the office of State Representative Gene Wu |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all |
|
|
her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Copello as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
