R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Martha Black is retiring as senior associate |
|
director of admission for boarding recruitment of St. Stephen's |
|
Episcopal School in Austin in 2025, drawing to a close an exemplary |
|
tenure with the school that has spanned three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Black, a fifth-generation Texan, joined the |
|
office of admission at St. Stephen's in 1995 as a scheduler and |
|
receptionist, and she has earned multiple promotions over the |
|
years; in her current role, she has traveled thousands of miles |
|
across the U.S. to recruit talented students to the school; in |
|
addition, she has led new student orientation, planned numerous |
|
admission events, and served as the longtime sponsor of the Key |
|
Society, the campus volunteer group; and |
|
WHEREAS, In retirement, Ms. Black will have the opportunity |
|
to spend more time with her grandchildren, read, travel, and |
|
garden; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, leadership, and expertise, |
|
Martha Black has greatly benefited the students and staff of |
|
St. Stephen's Episcopal School and earned the respect and |
|
admiration of all those who have been fortunate enough to work with |
|
her, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as |
|
she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Martha Black on her retirement from |
|
St. Stephen's Episcopal School and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Black as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
