R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Mike Quinn is retiring as executive director of |
|
administrative services of the Killeen Independent School District |
|
in 2025, drawing to a close an exemplary tenure with the district |
|
that has spanned 30 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1995, Mr. Quinn began his career with Killeen ISD |
|
as a ninth-grade teacher at Ellison High School; he moved to |
|
Shoemaker High School in 2000, and he was named its assistant |
|
principal four years later; in 2009, he embarked on an 11-year |
|
tenure as principal of Audie Murphy Middle School; he was then named |
|
executive director of secondary schools, a role in which he |
|
provided invaluable support to school principals and |
|
administrators and also managed secondary and alternative |
|
campuses; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since being appointed executive director of |
|
administrative services in 2024, Mr. Quinn has worked to ensure |
|
that student registration is up to date, has overseen the |
|
district's public education information management system, and has |
|
facilitated discipline conduct committee meetings; moreover, he |
|
has worked with principals to address parent concerns, helped |
|
coordinate high school graduations, and implemented a cell phone |
|
prohibition policy on the district's campuses; retirement will |
|
afford him more time to spend with his family, which includes his |
|
wife, Tina, and their daughter, Reagan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedication and commitment to |
|
excellence, Mike Quinn has helped countless young Texans acquire |
|
the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed, and his |
|
contributions will be remembered and appreciated for years to come; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mike Quinn on his retirement as |
|
executive director of administrative services of the Killeen |
|
Independent School District and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Quinn as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
