R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Orlando Flores, a county extension agent for the |
|
|
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, has distinguished himself by |
|
|
helping to manage the red flour beetle infestation in the El Paso |
|
|
area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In recent years, the West Texas region has |
|
|
experienced outbreaks of red flour beetles, a small insect commonly |
|
|
found in grocery products; Mr. Flores has played an instrumental |
|
|
role in developing strategies to address the infestation, educating |
|
|
local farmers and residents, and fostering collaboration to |
|
|
mitigate the beetle's impact; his skills and knowledge have been |
|
|
essential in safeguarding local ecosystems and supporting |
|
|
agricultural sustainability; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedication, leadership, and expertise, |
|
|
Orlando Flores has earned the respect and admiration of his |
|
|
colleagues and fellow citizens alike, and it is a pleasure to join |
|
|
in recognizing him for his contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Orlando Flores of the Texas A&M AgriLife |
|
|
Extension Service for helping to manage the red flour beetle |
|
|
infestation in West Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Flores as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
