R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Project BRAVO in El Paso is celebrating its 60th |
|
|
anniversary in 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1965, Project BRAVO serves as the |
|
|
designated community action agency for El Paso County; under the |
|
|
able leadership of executive director Laura Ponce, the nonprofit |
|
|
works to improve the lives of local residents through education, |
|
|
social services, and programs that promote self-sufficiency and |
|
|
equity; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Project BRAVO oversees a variety of initiatives to |
|
|
assist those in need; the organization's community services program |
|
|
offers career guidance, utility assistance, and health care |
|
|
resources to low-income individuals, and its weatherization and |
|
|
housing programs aim to ensure that residents have access to safe |
|
|
and affordable homes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the past six decades, Project BRAVO has been an |
|
|
invaluable resource for the citizens of El Paso County, and the |
|
|
organization's enduring impact is indeed worthy of recognition; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Project BRAVO on its 60th |
|
|
anniversary and extend to all those affiliated with the |
|
|
organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Project BRAVO as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
