R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Alexia Martinez of Fabens High School distinguished |
|
|
herself with her outstanding performances during the 2024 cross |
|
|
country season; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This talented athlete took home the gold at the |
|
|
District 2-4A meet on October 10; she went on to place sixth at the |
|
|
regional competition with a time of 11 minutes, 54.9 seconds, |
|
|
qualifying for the University Interscholastic League Cross Country |
|
|
State Championships for the second consecutive year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On November 1, Ms. Martinez joined the state's other |
|
|
top 4A runners at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock; she turned in an |
|
|
outstanding performance, recording a time of 11 minutes, 29.9 |
|
|
seconds, on the 3,200-meter course to finish seventh in the field; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her skill, determination, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence, Alexia Martinez has become a source of great pride for |
|
|
her school and for her many supporters in the Fabens community, and |
|
|
her success as a member of the Wildcat cross country team truly |
|
|
merits special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Alexia Martinez on her |
|
|
accomplishments as a member of the Fabens High School cross country |
|
|
team and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
