R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Luis Soto, a student at Americas High School in the |
|
|
Socorro Independent School District, has distinguished himself |
|
|
through his contributions to his peers in the Libertas Program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As part of his senior community project, Mr. Soto |
|
|
proposed the creation of the Libertas Trailblazer Scholarship to |
|
|
provide financial support to students who plan to pursue legal |
|
|
careers; the scholarship is open to members of the program who excel |
|
|
in their Libertas classes as well as in their regular coursework; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The scholarship is funded by donations from law |
|
|
firms and individuals connected to the field of law; recipients |
|
|
will be selected by a panel composed of Libertas instructors, the |
|
|
Libertas Leader, representatives from partnering firms, and other |
|
|
legal professionals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Luis Soto has demonstrated remarkable drive and |
|
|
initiative in working toward his goals, and he may indeed reflect |
|
|
with pride on his accomplishments as he looks forward to a future |
|
|
bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Luis Soto for helping establish the |
|
|
Libertas Trailblazer Scholarship and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Soto as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
