R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Joshua Rodriguez, a senior at Horizon High School, |
|
|
achieved great distinction by winning a silver medal at the 2025 |
|
|
University Interscholastic League Wrestling State Tournament; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Competing in the 5A 285-pound weight class, |
|
|
Mr. Rodriguez joined the other top wrestlers in Texas at the Berry |
|
|
Center in Cypress on February 14 and 15; demonstrating tremendous |
|
|
skill and determination in all of his matches, he advanced through |
|
|
the bracket to ultimately claim the silver medal; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez has enjoyed notable success over the |
|
|
course of his high school career; a three-time district champion, |
|
|
he has placed at the regional meet three times and has made two |
|
|
appearances at the state tournament; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By medaling in the premier showcase for Texas high |
|
|
school wrestlers, Joshua Rodriguez has ably represented his school |
|
|
and community, and he will long cherish his memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Joshua Rodriguez on winning the |
|
|
silver medal in the 5A 285-pound weight class at the 2025 UIL |
|
|
Wrestling State Tournament and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
