R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Taqueria El Tiger in Socorro was ranked No. 5 on the |
|
list of "The 50 Best Tacos in Texas" published by Texas Monthly; and |
|
WHEREAS, The food truck was founded by Michelin-trained chef |
|
Jorge Ortiz, who returned home to the El Paso area after working in |
|
some of the world's most well-respected kitchens; committed to his |
|
style of "new Tejano border cuisine," Mr. Ortiz blends his |
|
fine-dining experience with the simple delights of street food to |
|
create dishes that celebrate the binational spirit of the |
|
El Paso-Juárez region; in keeping with his menu's attention to |
|
craft and detail, each of the taqueria's tortillas is hand-pressed |
|
from heirloom masa sourced from Molino Azquil in Ciudad Juárez, |
|
Mexico; the restaurant was honored for its Tripa y Tembloroso taco, |
|
which is composed of tripe and pork rinds topped with kimchi salsa; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A treasured local institution, Taqueria El Tiger has |
|
contributed to the prosperity and distinct character of the Socorro |
|
community, and Mr. Ortiz and his staff are indeed worthy of |
|
recognition for this recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Taqueria El Tiger on ranking No. 5 |
|
on Texas Monthly's list of "The 50 Best Tacos in Texas" and extend |
|
to all those associated with the restaurant sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Ortiz as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
