R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses contribute to |
|
the economic and cultural vitality of the Lone Star State, and Licon |
|
Dairy is deserving of recognition for the positive role it plays in |
|
the San Elizario community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in the 1950s, Licon Dairy began as a small |
|
family business that operated through door-to-door sales, and over |
|
the decades, it has grown into a thriving enterprise; known for its |
|
variety of milk and Mexican-style cheeses, it has garnered |
|
accolades from such outlets as KTSM News and the El Paso Times, as |
|
well as from the Cities of El Paso and San Elizario; and |
|
WHEREAS, Licon Dairy also serves as a community gathering |
|
place, boasting a restaurant and hosting events; in addition, |
|
visitors can interact with exotic animals and livestock at its |
|
petting zoo; and |
|
WHEREAS, In the course of more than 65 years, Licon Dairy has |
|
gained a loyal following, and all those associated with the company |
|
may take great pride in its achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize Licon Dairy and extend to its owners |
|
and staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the business as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
