H.R. No. 1175

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Karen Vizcaino of Americas High School in the Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself in her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary E. González; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Vizcaino has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, An exceptional student, Ms. Vizcaino is a member of the National Honor Society, and she has served as an Advancement Via Individual Determination officer and as treasurer for the Student Ambassadors; she has also given back to her community by volunteering with the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter as well as serving on U.S. Representative Veronica Escobar's Congressional Youth Advisory Council; and

WHEREAS, Karen Vizcaino has performed her duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature hereby commend Karen Vizcaino for her service as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Vizcaino as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
