R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Trinity Abigail Garcia of Americas High School in |
|
|
the Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself |
|
|
in her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of |
|
|
State Representative Mary E. González; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Garcia has |
|
|
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging |
|
|
tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of |
|
|
public service, she has learned more about the legislative process |
|
|
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Americas High, Ms. Garcia is a member of |
|
|
the Libertas Academy program for students interested in law, |
|
|
government, and public administration; she has also held leadership |
|
|
positions in the school's choir and flag team, and she has earned |
|
|
great distinction at regional and state competitions; in addition, |
|
|
she is a dedicated member of the World Affairs organization, which |
|
|
fosters student awareness of global issues, and during her time as |
|
|
the team captain, she led the group to win first place at the |
|
|
district competition and earn a spot at the national competition in |
|
|
Washington, D.C.; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Ms. Garcia has contributed |
|
|
to the local food bank and shelters for the elderly; she has also |
|
|
helped to care for stray animals on her school's campus through |
|
|
donations and outreach; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Trinity Garcia has performed her duties as a |
|
|
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Trinity Abigail Garcia for her service |
|
|
as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary |
|
|
E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
