R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Joselyn Villa Prado of Americas High School in the |
|
Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself in |
|
her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
Representative Mary E. González; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Villa Prado |
|
has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of |
|
challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in |
|
the field of public service, she has learned more about the |
|
legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star |
|
State; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Villa Prado is a member of the Libertas Academy |
|
at Americas High; through the program, she has completed |
|
dual-credit coursework in law, criminal justice, and legal research |
|
and writing, among others; she also is captain of her school's color |
|
guard team, and under her leadership, the squad set the program |
|
record score at the Winter Guard International Regionals in |
|
Orlando, Florida; she previously served as flag line leader and was |
|
honored with the Outstanding Flag Award; moreover, she has taught |
|
incoming students as a Spring Civics Camp leader and has |
|
volunteered with the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and |
|
El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joselyn Villa Prado has performed her duties as a |
|
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Joselyn Villa Prado for her service as a |
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary E. |
|
González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Villa Prado as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
