R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Julius Perez of Americas High School in the Socorro |
|
|
Independent School District has distinguished himself in his |
|
|
responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Mary E. González; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his internship, Mr. Perez has |
|
|
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging |
|
|
tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of |
|
|
public service, he has learned more about the legislative process |
|
|
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As part of his internship, Mr. Perez helped draft |
|
|
resolutions and memos and track policy developments, and he |
|
|
volunteered with such organizations as El Pasoans Fighting Hunger |
|
|
and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; he has also |
|
|
participated in the Libertas Academy program, which prepares |
|
|
students who aspire to careers in government and public |
|
|
administration or law; outside of his public and community service, |
|
|
he has contributed to various school theater productions by |
|
|
managing lighting, sound, and set construction; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Julius Perez has performed his duties as a |
|
|
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Julius Perez for his service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative |
|
|
Mary E. González and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Perez as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
