R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Nicole Morales of Americas High School in the |
|
|
Socorro Independent School District has distinguished herself in |
|
|
her responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Mary E. González; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Morales has |
|
|
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging |
|
|
tasks, which have included drafting official correspondence and |
|
|
conducting research; in addition to gaining valuable experience in |
|
|
the field of public service, she has learned more about the |
|
|
legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star |
|
|
State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Americas High School, Ms. Morales |
|
|
supports her peers and engages with a wide variety of academic |
|
|
initiatives as an officer in the school's Advancement Via |
|
|
Individual Determination program; moreover, she has developed a |
|
|
passion for civic engagement and deepened her understanding of |
|
|
political and legal systems through her involvement in the school's |
|
|
Libertas Academy program; active in her community, she has also |
|
|
volunteered with such commendable organizations as El Pasoans |
|
|
Fighting Hunger and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Nicole Morales has performed her duties as a |
|
|
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Nicole Morales for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative |
|
|
Mary E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Morales as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
