R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ava Vargas of Americas High School in the Socorro |
|
|
Independent School District has distinguished herself in her |
|
|
responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Mary E. González; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Vargas has |
|
|
provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging |
|
|
tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of |
|
|
public service, she has learned more about the legislative process |
|
|
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Vargas is an active member of several student |
|
|
organizations, including Key Club, student council, National Honor |
|
|
Society, and Libertas Academy; she has also given back to her |
|
|
community by volunteering with such organizations as El Pasoans |
|
|
Fighting Hunger and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ava Vargas has performed her duties as a legislative |
|
|
intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of |
|
|
special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Ava Vargas for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative |
|
|
Mary E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Vargas as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
