R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Maximus Quintero of Americas High School in the
  Socorro Independent School District has distinguished himself in
  his responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State
  Representative Mary E. González; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his internship, Mr. Quintero has
  provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging
  tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of
  public service, he has learned more about the legislative process
  and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Quintero has benefited his local community as a
  volunteer with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and the El Paso
  Villa Maria transitional women's shelter; as a member of his
  school's DECA team, he cofounded a nonprofit organization, the
  El Paso Community Service Foundation, to help other students
  connect with volunteer opportunities; the project advanced to the
  state level of competition; and
         WHEREAS, While excelling academically, Mr. Quintero has also
  served as the parliamentarian of the Libertas Academy program for
  students interested in law, government, and public administration;
  moreover, he won second place in the 2024 District Art Show in the
  sculpting category, and for two years, he participated in
  Destination Imagination, a program that encourages teamwork and
  innovation in problem-solving; and
         WHEREAS, Maximus Quintero has performed his duties as a
  legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Maximus Quintero for his service as a
  legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary E.
  González and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Quintero as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
