R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, John W. Galloway III is retiring from Galloway &
  Sons Funeral Home in Beeville in 2025, concluding a remarkable
  tenure with the company that has spanned six and a half decades; and
         WHEREAS, Though he had decided to attend Texas A&M University
  with the goal of becoming a veterinarian, Mr. Galloway returned
  home in 1960 to join Galloway & Sons Funeral Home, which his
  grandfather, John Galloway Jr., founded in 1919; earning his
  mortuary license, Mr. Galloway started out running the company's
  ambulance services in addition to helping with funerals, and he
  took over the company following the retirement of his father,
  Charles Galloway, in 1974; he also purchased the Three Rivers
  Funeral Home and Beeville Memorial Park and built a funeral chapel
  in George West; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his community, Mr. Galloway
  served as the mayor of Beeville from 1972 to 1981, playing a vital
  role in the development of the city swimming pool, the
  establishment of the Beeville Municipal Airport, and the
  construction of the new city hall, among other accomplishments;
  over the years, he has also been involved with the Beeville Water
  Supply District and the Bee Development Authority, and he was
  appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Nueces River Authority;
  moreover, he has held leadership roles with such worthy
  organizations as United Way, the American Red Cross, and Scouting
  America and has established a number of fundraisers that benefit
  local civic groups; and
         WHEREAS, In recognition of his contributions, Mr. Galloway
  was twice selected as the Bee County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of
  the Year, and the Bee County Commissioners Court named the new
  Beeville Economic Development office in his honor; in all his
  endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Elizabeth,
  and their three children; and
         WHEREAS, John Galloway's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of
  Beeville, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
  spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate John W. Galloway III on his
  retirement from Galloway & Sons Funeral Home and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Galloway as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
