R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort |
|
those saddened by the passing of Donald Spencer Peterson of Dallas |
|
on December 26, 2024, at the age of 54; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Donald Lee Peterson and Gayle Spencer |
|
Peterson, Don Peterson was born on May 31, 1970, at Barksdale Air |
|
Force Base in Louisiana; growing up in a military family, he lived |
|
in Florida, Virginia, Alabama, Arizona, Texas, and Germany during |
|
his youth; he graduated from high school in Panama City, Florida, |
|
and went on to attend Texas A&M University, where he earned a |
|
bachelor of business administration degree in finance; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson enjoyed a successful career in wealth |
|
management that spanned 32 years; he worked at Merrill Lynch and |
|
Deutsche Bank Securities before joining UBS Wealth Management USA |
|
as a managing director and spending more than 22 years with the |
|
firm; he worked with many of his clients for decades, and he was |
|
recognized for his expertise in such publications as Barron's and |
|
Forbes; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Peterson enjoyed the love |
|
and support of his wife, Kerry; the couple married in November 2005, |
|
and they became the parents of three children, Elsa, Henry, and |
|
Sydney; in his leisure time, Mr. Peterson loved traveling the world |
|
with his family, playing tennis, and sailing; and |
|
WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Don Peterson |
|
leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far |
|
richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured |
|
place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Spencer |
|
Peterson and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his wife, Kerry; to his children, Elsa, Henry, and |
|
Sydney; to his mother, Gayle; and to his other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Don |
|
Peterson. |
