R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort
  those saddened by the passing of Donald Spencer Peterson of Dallas
  on December 26, 2024, at the age of 54; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Donald Lee Peterson and Gayle Spencer
  Peterson, Don Peterson was born on May 31, 1970, at Barksdale Air
  Force Base in Louisiana; growing up in a military family, he lived
  in Florida, Virginia, Alabama, Arizona, Texas, and Germany during
  his youth; he graduated from high school in Panama City, Florida,
  and went on to attend Texas A&M University, where he earned a
  bachelor of business administration degree in finance; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson enjoyed a successful career in wealth
  management that spanned 32 years; he worked at Merrill Lynch and
  Deutsche Bank Securities before joining UBS Wealth Management USA
  as a managing director and spending more than 22 years with the
  firm; he worked with many of his clients for decades, and he was
  recognized for his expertise in such publications as Barron's and
  Forbes; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Peterson enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Kerry; the couple married in November 2005,
  and they became the parents of three children, Elsa, Henry, and
  Sydney; in his leisure time, Mr. Peterson loved traveling the world
  with his family, playing tennis, and sailing; and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Don Peterson
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Spencer
  Peterson and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Kerry; to his children, Elsa, Henry, and
  Sydney; to his mother, Gayle; and to his other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Don
  Peterson.
