R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, El Paso Children's Hospital is celebrating the 13th |
|
anniversary of its founding in 2025; and |
|
WHEREAS, The idea to establish a hospital in El Paso |
|
specializing in pediatric care was first conceived by a group of |
|
concerned citizens in 1993, and after years of advocacy, Thomason |
|
Hospital took on the project; in November 2007, local voters |
|
approved a bond issue for the facility, and on February 14, 2012, |
|
the hospital opened its doors; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, El Paso Children's Hospital has |
|
helped to decrease outmigration for pediatric subspecialty and |
|
surgical care by 80 percent; accredited by The Joint Commission and |
|
the College of American Pathologists, the hospital is home to a |
|
Level IV neonatal intensive care unit as well as the Southwest |
|
University Pediatric Blood and Cancer Unit; moreover, the facility |
|
has the distinction of being an affiliate of Children's Oncology |
|
Group; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the past 13 years, El Paso Children's Hospital |
|
has provided expert and compassionate care to countless young |
|
Texans, and the members of its medical, support, and administrative |
|
staff may indeed take great pride in its outstanding record of |
|
service; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 13th anniversary of El Paso |
|
Children's Hospital and extend to all those associated with the |
|
institution sincere best wishes for continued success with their |
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the hospital as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
